Concrete Jungle Pots
I’ve always wanted to work with concrete – not the smooth, sterile kind, but raw, honest material with character. The idea: small plant pots or trays that look like miniature buildings. Think warehouses, garages, abandoned factories. Urban vibes for your living room.
It all started with some rough sketches on the iPad. The first design was a tiny warehouse – complete with ramp, roller door, and a back entrance. Compact, functional, and with just the right amount of attitude. That’s how the “Warehouse Pot” was born.
From 3D Idea to Concrete Reality
Once the concept felt right, I built the 3D model – adding facade details, doors, and textures. Then I printed the prototype in PLA with my 3D printer. To make it mold-ready, I switched from clunky wooden boxes to Lego for the mold frame – quicker, cleaner, and far more fun. The silicone picks up every tiny detail and becomes a reusable, flexible mold once cured.
For the casting, I use fine concrete with as few air bubbles as possible. Depending on temperature, it cures within one to two days. That’s when the magic happens – edges, lines, surfaces… I love when the raw material starts to speak.
Graffiti, Patina & Street Stories
Once the concrete sets, the creative part begins. I paint, spray, and stencil each piece with acrylics, markers, and graffiti tags. I want every pot to look like it’s been out in the city for decades – not fresh from a factory. Urban scars, layers, stories.
Inspired by Rust and Ruins
My work is shaped by the kind of places I love: the gritty corners of Hamburg’s St. Pauli, rusty old docks, Polish backyards from the 70s with cracked concrete, laundry lines, and graffiti-covered walls. These places have soul. That’s what I want to capture.
Perfectly Imperfect One-offs
Each pot is a one-of-a-kind. Tiny bubbles, slightly uneven edges, or color variations aren’t flaws – they’re part of the charm. I use them as planters, pencil holders, or just as sculptural pieces. Honestly? They don’t even need plants. Concrete is the decoration.
